7 cups of raw spinach will make 4-5 cups of spinach puree
Directions:
- Pour 1/2 cup of water into the bottom of the blender.
- Add a small amount of spinach and blend until smooth.
- Continue adding more spinach in small amounts, blending each time, until you have enough puree to fill one freeze dryer tray.
- Line the freeze dryer tray with parchment paper.
- Pour the spinach puree onto the tray and spread it evenly.
- If desired, place dividers on the tray to portion servings.
- Freeze until completely solid.
- Freeze dry (my cycle time was 24 hours)
- Blend into a powder using a blender, or crush into a powder by placing it in a large zip-style bag and rolling over it with a rolling pin.
- Store in jars for short-term use or in mylar bags for long-term storage
