This recipe makes 2 smoothies and yields 4 cups
Directions:
- Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth and fully combined.
- Line a freeze drying tray with parchment paper and pour the blended smoothie onto the tray.
- Insert the dividers in a 4-section configuration to portion the smoothie.
- Freeze the tray until the smoothie is completely solid.
- Freeze Dry (My cycle time was 32 hours).
Rehydration:
To rehydrate one serving of the freeze-dried smoothie, use approximately 3/4 to 1 cup of cold water per portion. Place the freeze-dried smoothie pieces into a blender with the water and blend until smooth. Add a little more water if needed to reach your desired consistency. Let it sit for a minute after blending to fully absorb before serving.
Notes:
For a colder, more refreshing smoothie, you can replace some or all of the rehydration water with ice. Add the freeze-dried smoothie pieces and about 1/2 cup of cold water to the blender first to help soften the ingredients, then add 1/2 cup of ice and blend until smooth. Adjust the amount of ice and water to reach your preferred texture
